How do I request a new therapist?
We understand just how important it is for you to feel like you and your mental health provider have a great relationship. We know that every so often, patients feel like it’s just not the right fit — but our providers are experts at building relationships and taking in your feedback. We recommend sharing how you feel with them, and giving it at least 2 more sessions before pursuing a rematch.
Start by talking with your current therapist, if you feel comfortable
If you feel comfortable doing so, we recommend discussing your request with your current therapist first. Your therapist can help support a smooth transition and may be able to help identify what would be most helpful in your next therapeutic relationship.
This conversation can also help us better understand your goals, preferences, and what you’re looking for in a new therapist.
It’s also important to understand that starting over with a new provider can delay your progress. If after discussing with your provider you feel that it’s still not the right fit for you, let us know.
You can reach out to support@twochairs.com and we can work with you to find a new pairing as soon as possible. There may be a wait time until you’re able to resume care.
