Blood Pressure and Heart Rate Requirements at Two Chairs

At Two Chairs, client safety and high-quality medical care are our highest priorities. Because certain psychiatry medications (such as stimulants) naturally impact cardiovascular activity, our psychiatry practice guidelines require routine blood pressure and pulse (heart rate) monitoring for clients prescribed these medications.

Why routine vitals monitoring is required

Monitoring cardiovascular vitals ensures that your medication remains safe and effective for you over time. Even if you were not asked to submit vitals previously, Two Chairs routinely updates patient charts to maintain our safety guidelines and ensure your clinical records are fully up to date.

How often you need to submit vitals

Two Chairs Psychiatry policy requires routine vitals monitoring:

  • Within the first 90 days of starting medication
  • Every 6 months moving forward for ongoing treatment

How to submit your blood pressure and pulse readings

To fulfill this requirement, please provide a clear photo of a recent reading that displays both your blood pressure and pulse (heart rate).

You can obtain your reading from any of the following sources:

  • A home blood pressure monitor: We recommend keeping a blood pressure monitor at home for easy, convenient routine check-ins.
  • A local pharmacy or grocery store kiosk: Many standard retail pharmacies offer public blood pressure kiosks.
  • A primary care appointment: A documented reading from a recent visit with your primary care provider.

Once you submit your image, our Psychiatry Operations team will document the reading directly into your chart and notify your psychiatry provider.
