We understand just how important it is for you to feel like you and your therapist have a great relationship. The relationship with your therapist is important to your outcome in therapy, which is why we put so much research into our matching and measurement-based care (MBC) models. One important component of MBC is the mental health check-ins, which contain questions about how therapy is going for you.
We know that every so often, clients feel like it’s just not the right fit. However our therapists are experts at building relationships and taking in your feedback. We encourage you to discuss these issues during your sessions with your therapist. The information you provide in the mental health check-ins, as well as in your sessions, will help your therapist make the necessary changes to ensure therapy is working better for you. After sharing your concerns we recommend waiting at least two sessions before asking us to find you a new therapist – that gives your therapist time to adjust.
If after discussing with your therapist you feel that it's still not the right fit, you can request that they match you with a new therapist and they will begin the matching process for you. Please be aware that rematches can take a while to process, so starting over with a new therapist might delay your progress. Please note that while we will try to offer you a new match as soon as possible, there may be a wait time until you’re able to resume care.
