“Out-of-network” refers to healthcare providers or facilities that are not contracted or affiliated with an individual’s health insurance. When you have health insurance, it typically comes with a network of providers that have agreed to provide services at a negotiated rate. These providers would be considered “in-network.”

When you seek medical services from a provider or facility that is out-of-network, it means they do not have a contract or agreement with your insurance company. As a result, the cost associated with visiting out-of-network providers may not be covered, or it may be covered at a lower rate, leading to higher out-of-pocket costs.

It is important to become familiar with your health insurance plan’s network and coverage details to make sure you understand the financial responsibilities of receiving care from out-of-network providers.

Two Chairs is in-network with the following insurance carriers:

  • Kaiser Permanente Northern California
  • Kaiser Permanente Washington
  • Aetna
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida
