How can I prepare for the matching appointment?

At Two Chairs, we aim to simplify the process of finding a therapist. We also know from research that the relationship between the client and the therapist is one of the strongest predictors of whether or not therapy is effective. So we’ve invested in making the perfect match.

Now that you’ve taken the first step to starting care by booking your matching appointment, you may be wondering what kinds of topics you can expect to discuss during the session. Additionally, if you’ve never participated in a teletherapy session before, you may be wondering how best to prepare for a virtual video appointment.

For more details on the Two Chairs matching process, you can read more about our matching approach here.

Additionally, we’ve put together some tips for a successful teletherapy session to help you ensure your tech is properly set up ahead of the session. At the bottom of this blog post, we include guidance for how to make space and reflect ahead of your session, especially if you’re in a busy home environment.

On the day of your matching appointment, you’ll receive a reminder email asking you to complete a mental health check-in before you join your appointment. These mental health check-ins are short surveys that will be sent before and after each Two Chairs therapy session to help track your progress throughout treatment.
